Combimelt moulding

 

We can mould by combimelt technology, that's mean that we can obtain components in two different raw materials. Some examples?...

The technical targets that we can meet are many. Combimelt moulding extend the fields of thecnological employement of thermoplastic raw materials:

joint between soft and structural raw materials, each for ahesthetical solution (soft-touch), but also for gaskets and packing;
obtain two different colors (bi-color);
by working on the chemical difference between raw materials we can obtain component not jointed one with the other and so it is possible to move the first raw material while it is assembled with the second (assembly). Seeing the table of chemical compliances it is possible to obtain these assembly with only a mould in bi-raw materials.

The tecnology of combimelt (see in tech page what kind of solution we can supply You) employ more different materials. Some of these raw material have a chemical comptability, but other no. The choice betweern one raw material and another is due to which kind of problem the article must solve. If we want a soft-touch effect but also an strutured component that have high levels of mechanical resistence, we must employ two material that could have no chemical comptability. This mean that the front/surfaces of the two materials do not joint one with the other and so we must assure a mechanical joint. This tecnology find many different solutions, all dictated by the experiecne matured.

We can exploit all main technologies of multi raw material moulding.

 

rotating table. By this system one of the two parts of the mould can rotate up to 180° in order to change to closing surfaces. 

 

Moving part inside the mould. It is one of the simpliest technologies in thermoplastica multi raw material moulding. Thanking to one or more core-pulls inside the mould a slide can be moved, changing the volume and position filled by the raw material. For example if it is on will be injected the first raw material, while the "off" position grant the filling of the second raw material.

 

index table. It is one of the top thecnology. A plane between fix and moving part of the mould can be rotated. By this technology can be changed (between first and second raw material) al side of the cavity, like a changing of the entire mould. 

 

Moving pieces. For some production (such as when the optimization between price, performances and thecnical solutions is very difficult), the simpliest solution is moulding the first raw material, taking the pieces and inserting it in onother mould for the second injection.

IMD (In mould decoration)

The last technology we have adopted is about decoration directly in mould; this mean that a thermoformed slide is insert in the mould in order to injecting a structural raw materiale. IMD solution permit us to obtain articles with high level decoration.

 

Automation

Automation is allways be a main target of our work.

A process with an high level of efficiency, keeping a strict control of production parameters is the first component of a granted quality.

Our hardware employ press at numeric control, being able to obtain quality and repeatity.

Automation is also important for keeping costs down. So we have many other solutions, such automatic tables for assembly, mixers for coloring raw materials direclty on press, etc.
